Dove And Stellar Award Nominee Gets Set For Other High Profile Performances And Receives Glowing Reviews

Praise and worship artist and Co-pastor Mary Alessi is a woman who knows the word “perseverance”.  Her new Billboard-charting album, Pressing On, is a testament to that spirit of perseverance, overcoming no matter the circumstances.  The impetus for the title track of the gospel and CCM-flavored, 15-track project was the near-death experience of Stephen Alessi, Mary’s husband and Pastor of Metro Life Church in Miami, FL.  Songs like the celebratory “Hero”, the inspiring “I Will Bless The Lord” and the gospel-tinged medley of “I’ll Come Running/Have Your Way In Me” have been gaining the artist even more fans.

Now the psalmist will be ministering at Lakewood Church, home of famed preacher and pastor, Joel Osteen.  Alessi will be singing at the church’s Saturday service on February 12, 2011, at 7PM and at the two Sunday morning services on February 13, 2011, at 8:30AM & 11:00AM.  Lakewood Church is located in Houston, TX (3700 Southwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77027 – 713-635-4154).  In addition, Mary will be singing at Grace Church in Humble, TX, (7224 N. Sam Houston Parkway E., Humble, TX 77396 – 281.441.1111) on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at 7PM.  Fans of the artist will also be able to watch her on the Trinity Broadcasting Network on Praise The Lord with host Dr. Mark Chironna on the evening of Monday, February 21st..  She’s also set to be the featured singer at the well-known Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA, at the morning service on Sunday, April 10th.

Alessi, the twin sister of fellow gospel singer Martha Munizzi, is a Dove and Stellar award-nominated artist known for her CDs, More and When Women Worship.  Her new release, Pressing On, has been critically-acclaimed, evidenced by its glowing reviews. says, “Her estimable songwriting skills and command of melody and song structure stand out, especially on the gorgeous ballad ‘Saturate Me’ and the equally heartfelt title track.  The medley, “I’ll Come Running to You/Have Your Way in Me,” has more than a dash of contemporary gospel, with Alessi vamping bluesy at the end. Pressing On is a well-crafted and superbly paced project with plenty to like about it.”

Worship Leader Magazine says, “Alessi may blend contemporary, rock, pop, and even a little country together in this release, but it’s really the gospel flare of the choral backup vocals and Alessi’s spirit-filled passion that brings it all together. There’s a sense of people from all backgrounds and experiences coming together, learning to press on, not alone, but as a unified family and community at the feet of God.  Everything from the flow of genres and pace, to the inspirational lyrics and passionate vocals, make this a live worship experience that almost everyone can relate to. Most of the tracks can be easily adapted to play in your own church, making this not only a great personal worship album, but an accessible one as well.”
