We Salute You! Ed Gordon Promotes Father/Daughter Relationships



Bounty(R) paper towels with Journalist and “Daddy’s Promise” founder, Ed Gordon celebrated the special relationship between fathers and daughters at the first annual Bounty’s Promise Father-Daughter Dance in New York City at the New York Hilton this past weekend. Fathers and daughters from across the country gathered for an afternoon of fun, food and entertainment. Celebrity guests included actress Vivica A. Fox, comedian and The View co-host Sherri Shepherd (together with their fathers) and singer Eric Benet (and his daughter). Singer Will Downing performed Beautiful to Me, a song he wrote for his daughter that also served as the theme song for Daddy’s Promise. Winners of the contest also received a dining experience and a Bounty cooking demonstration at B. Smith’s restaurant; a father & daughter salon visit; a shopping spree and afternoon tea at the American Girl Boutique and Bistro.

Launched on June 12, 2008 by television journalist, Ed Gordon, Daddy’s Promise was designed to engage the African American community in the positive relationship that can and should exist between fathers/father figures and daughters. The initiative encourages fathers to be active in their daughter’s lives. As title sponsor, Bounty is committed to helping families clean up the little messes and spills in life so they can focus on the quality time that makes the father/daughter relationship strong, loving, fun and enduring.
